Jobs axed with American FHM...

In brief, this article is about how the US edition of FHM is being ceased as a result of not making enough sells. Consequently, 40 Emap staff will be without jobs. The reason for the closure of this particular magazine is placed on the deteriorating trading conditions in the US, therfore the chief executive of Emap Consumer Media, stated they 'do not anticipate that the title would be able to trade on a profitable basis going forward'

However, FHM UK and the other 30 publications around the world will not be effected by this. FHM is still the number selling lads mag in the UK, nonetheless its circulation of 420,688 in the first half of 2006 was 24.9% down on the second half of last year.

This is quite interesting as it could be mirroring the downfall of other popular magazines in the country i.e. Zoo.It could be that men are finally becoming bored of the incessant images of nude women, however theres still the option of visiting their site online, which also now features an 'Uncensored Gallery'..hmm. Nonethless the option to stop the publication in the US is still surprising as in the other 30 countries it continues to stay on top..!
